As the Managing Director of ABB India, Bazmi Husain is responsible for the overall strategic direction and results of the company in India.
Bazmi joined ABB in 1981 and managed a variety of local business units and divisions in India, Singapore and across the globe contributing to the growth of businesses through innovation. During his stint as head of automation division in India, he was instrumental in the turnaround of the business and creating the biggest B to B vendor base. He was appointed the head of research center in 2002 wherein he scaled up the operations of the center. From 2005 through 2009 he was director of ABB’s corporate research center in Sweden and also led ABB’s global automation technology research.
Before his appointment as the Managing Director in January 2011, he headed the smart grid industry segment initiative within marketing and customer solutions.
Bazmi is an electrical and electronics engineer and MS in Physics, both from BITS Pilani.
